Thank you for your interest in applying to the Samuel Merritt University Nursing Success Seminar. This seminar will take place January 29, 2025-January 31, 2025 at the at the designated Samuel Merritt University's campuses. Participation in all three days is required.

Before you begin your application, please carefully read the following information and instructions.

Contact and Demographic Information

All of the information you include in your application is confidential and used only by the Office of Admission for statistical and recruitment purposes. Emergency contact information is required in case of an emergency taking place while you are on campus. Contact information is not shared with any other departments on campus or third party agencies. Demographic information that you provide (not required) is only used for statistical purposes.

Program Preference

Nursing Success is split into two tracks. Please pick the track that is most relevant to you and the program you are interested in.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Track
2-year program for transfer students who do not have a bachelor’s degree.

Accelerated BSN and Entry-Level Master of Science in Nursing
For students who already have a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field.

Personal Statement

We recommend that you prepare your personal statement ahead of time. You will need to attach your response to this application using the tool provided on page three. Please limit your response to 1,000 words. While we are not grading for spelling or grammar, your consideration of these aspects of your response will help the reader better understand your thoughts and motivations.

Personal Statement Prompt

In 1,000 words or less, describe why you are interested in the Nursing Success Seminar and what you hope to gain from the program. Please be sure to reference any experiences that have motivated your interest in nursing as well as the role cultural awareness or cultural diversity plays in the delivery of healthcare as a nurse.

Unofficial Transcripts

Obtain unofficial transcripts from all colleges/universities attended since high school. It is not necessary to get official transcripts for this purpose.
